The Club was very sorry to learn the news last week of the passing of its former Director Raymond Fagan.
Raymond had been very closely involved with the club for many
years and, over the period 2011- 2013, had contributed hugely, as a
Director, to the success
of the Club in achieving Premiership status and in supporting, in many
ways, the fortunes of London Welsh.
The Club Chairman, Bleddyn Phillips, commented "London Welsh is very sad to have lost a true friend and supporter with the passing of Raymond. Instrumental in ensuring the club could gain its rightful place in Premiership rugby through negotiating a deal with the Kassam stadium, Raymond was a regular supporter and contributor, in many ways, to the recent success of the club. He was a true inspiration to those who knew and worked with him closely in as much as he continued to devote so much of his time and effort for the club even though he was combating so bravely a debilitating and terminal illness. His cheery smile and dry wit was a regular feature at our home games last season - notwithstanding the challenges faced.
"He will be sorely missed but continually loved and admired by those who knew him and the huge contribution he made to club. Our thoughts and prayers are very much with Anita, Roz and Alice at this time to whom we send our love and appreciation of all that Raymond did for London Welsh."
