Biography
This will be James' third season at London Welsh having joined the club in 2011 from London Irish. However, his debut for Welsh had actually come during a short loan spell in 2010/11.

The front row forward made three appearances for Welsh in 2010/11 on loan from Irish with his debut coming as a second half replacement in the Exiles' 23-16 win over the Cornish Pirates at Old Deer Park.

James made 11 appearances during his two seasons at Sunbury, making his debut against Harlequins in the LV= Cup in January 2010. His only try for the club came three months later against Wasps in the Aviva Premiership.

A product of the Gloucester Academy, it was there that James was converted from the back row to the front row.

He developed his tight head skills in National League Two with Stourbridge, where he also trained with Worcester and was part of the club's Academy.

James joined Plymouth Albion in 2008 but his Brickfields appearances were limited, due to a knee injury picked up against London Welsh just five games into his Albion career.

James has also represented England Counties and North Midlands.

Having moved to Welsh in 2011, he started the club's Championship winning season in impressive form, only for injury to rule him out for several months. He returned to help steady the Welsh scrum in time for the play-offs, during which he was ever present at tight head.

Last season, James made 20 appearances for Welsh, doubling his try scoring tally for the club in the process when he crossed against Gloucester in the LV= Cup at Kingsholm.
