Biography
Lorne left the Old Deer Park club in 2005 to join near neighbours Harlequins where he made 33 appearances in two seasons and helped the club achieve the ‘double’ - promotion back to the Guinness Premiership and victory over Bedford in the National Trophy final at Twickenham.
He spent the 2007/08 season at Bath before heading to France for a three-month spell with Toulon. He returned to south-west London last season to help London Scottish’s push for promotion to the revamped National League One.
Lorne joined London Welsh in 2002 and made a total of 77 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seven tries. But despite leaving the Dragons in 2005,Ward’s last game for the club would come in April 2007, while on loan from Harlequins, with the prop playing a key role in helping the club avoid relegation in 2006/07.
The South African tighthead previously played for Watsonians, Maritzburg University College Rovers in South Africa and Natal A.
