Biography
Gibson joined London Welsh in the summer from Plymouth Albion having previously also played at Newbury Blues.
The winger scored six tries in 30 starts for Graham Dawe's side in last season's Championship on his way to claiming the Herald (a Plymouth newspaper) readers' player of the year award.
In total, in his three seasons at Plymouth, Gibson made 69 appearances, scoring 16 tries.
Gibson had joined Plymouth from Newbury in 2007, where he made 15 league starts in three seasons.
Despite showing glimpses of his talent in his first two seasons at Brickfields, and was hampered by a serious kidney injury in his first season, it was in 2009/10 that he established himself as one of the best players in the Championship.
It was also a move that would bring Gibson instant international recognition with England Sevens. In November 2007, after impressing at two England trials, he was named in the England squad by head coach Ben Ryan for the IRB World Sevens tournament in Dubai, alongside the likes of Ben Foden, Joe Simpson and Tom Youngs.
For Gibson it was also the chance to link up again with Ryan, who coached him at Newbury after playing his early rugby at Oxford RFC.
