Biography
A powerful centre, Paul joined Welsh from the Scarlets in 2007, having previously played for Swansea, Llanelli and the Ospreys.
Paul has since gone on to establish himself as a permanent fixture in the Dragons midfield, having first
honed his skills at Mumbles RFC.
He helped the All Whites to Welsh Premier Division success in his debut season in 2000/01, and played
in their final game at the top level, against Newport at St Helens in May 2003. In total, Paul made 53
appearances for Swansea, scoring 21 tries.
Paul made his Ospreys debut on the wing against Glasgow Warriors in January 2005, before moving to the Scarlets and Llanelli. He would score a try on his debut off the bench against Cardiff Blues September 2005 at the Arms Park.
In 2007, London Welsh and the dual challenge of experiencing life National League One and the capital
would tempt Paul to Old Deer Park.
It was a move that would bring Paul back to the country of his birth, having been born in Sidcup, Kent. But despite being brought up in Wales, after his family relocated when Paul was 18 months old, when England and Wales cross paths, Paul’s allegiance is firmly in the red rose corner.
Being dual qualified, however, Paul has earned representative honours with Wales and is understandably
proud of his achievements. He played for Wales at the U19 World Championship in Chile along side the likes of Gavin Henson, Jon Thomas, Richie Pugh, Nicky Robinson, Rhys Thomas and Hugh Bennett.
Wales reached the third/fourth place play-off but Paul was unlucky to pick up a shoulder injury in the first half and watched the remainder of the match on TV in hospital.
Paul passed 50 league appearances for the club last season at the Cornish Pirates.
